High-volume AI tools are killing your content
Greetings Cyborg,
Today, I'll explain why many high-volume AI tools are counterintuitive for the industry.
You'll also learn some effective strategies for scaling content production with AI while maintaining high-quality standards.
The big problem is that most AI tools produce content that is clearly written by AI. You must be wary of them.
Before you write another article, understand the importance of balancing quantity and quality.

THE BIG WORD
High-volume AI tools are killing your content
Content marketers and SEOs are under increasing pressure to produce more content. Producing ridiculously large volumes of content is often asked of us.
I know first-hand because I can take one look at Upwork and see a gig asking for multiple articles a day, but the pay is $0.02 per word.
Case in point.
They know someone will do the work regardless of pay and will simply abuse AI to do their bidding, it creates unrealistic expectations for content writers.
I've seen people deliver five articles in under 24 hours and get told, Hey, listen up, buddy.
We need more.
Naturally, as any normal person would do, they turn to AI to save time and be more efficient.
In theory, they sound like the perfect solution.
Why on earth would I not want to generate large volumes of AI content that would streamline my workload?
It's more efficient, the AI algorithms can analyze patterns and datasets I can't, and I have so much to write; the stress is killing me. This will help me write more, right?
Wrong.
There are pitfalls to high-volume AI content tools. AI content tools are not a replacement for human creativity.
Your content will never resonate with your audience or rank well on search engines if you sacrifice quality for quantity.
We know how hard it is already to rank well on Google these days.
Hear what the people are saying
And again…
I see hundreds of generic, boring articles every day.
The same structure, the same AI-generated outputs, and the same lazy vocabulary choices.
With this new type of content on the rise, you don’t have much competition. It’s easy to stand out with quality, creative articles made by people for the people.
If you want your articles to be appreciated by the masses, then you must do these things.
You've got to understand who your readers are. Picture who you're talking to—their interests, needs, and pain points. It's like creating characters in a story.
When you understand who you're talking to, now you must hook them. Start with something juicy—a burning question, a mind-blowing fact, or a story that hits close to home. Make them feel like you're talking directly to them.
Use 2nd person pronouns like "you" to help with this.
Keep it casual.
I learned a clever tip: when writing, you should write as if you were having a conversation with someone at a bar.
This rule won't fit all styles, but for the most part, you want to use straightforward language.
Plus, you should use active voice to make sentences more dynamic.
Learn how brains organize ideas. Readers comprehend “the boy hit the ball” quicker than “the ball was hit by the boy.”
Both sentences mean the same, but it’s easier to imagine the object (the boy) before the action (the hitting). All brains work that way. (Notice I didn’t say, “That is the way all brains work.")
Give them value-driven content. Tell them upfront what's in it for them. Whether it's tips, solutions, or just a good laugh, make it worth their while. Provide immediately actionable insights that they can use.
Giving out free advice will make them come back for more.
If you can, feature some interactive elements, like quizzes, polls, or graphics. It's always a plus to involve the reader.
If you're smart about this, you can get subtle feedback from your audience by priming these elements in a fun way.
Make it easy to digest. Break it up with headings, bullet points, and visuals. Nobody wants to read a wall of text. Keep it snappy and scannable.
Images, infographics, and quotes can be used to break up text and maintain interest.
I'm repeating this one because I'm such a huge fan of it, but get them involved. Ask questions, encourage them to share their thoughts, and give them clear actions to take. Make it feel like a two-way conversation.
Include clear calls to action for them to comment, share, or take specific steps. This is such an undervalued technique as you can gain feedback, helping you know what's what!
People love a good story, so use storytelling techniques. Share relatable anecdotes or real-life examples to keep them hooked and make your point hit home.
They will see themselves in a similar situation, or you'll have taught them something. Either way, they leave feeling like they've read something valuable.
Most importantly, be a credible source of information. No one likes false information, so don't feed it to them.
Use reliable sources, be transparent about any biases, and always back up your claims. Build trust with your audience; they'll respect you for it.
Pro tip: If you have any affiliations or sponsorships, mention them at the beginning of your texts. It's what all the best newsletters do.
It's more important than ever to maintain the dignity of our articles to produce valuable content that HELPS the reader.
If you need a tool that tackles some of these issues, like understanding your audience, writing in your voice, and adding accurate citations, you should try Reword.
